The U. S. drug industry is grappling with an increasing number of lawsuits claiming that its sales of its popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra have been overcharged. The lawsuits are seeking to recoup some of the lost sales of Viagra by allowing plaintiffs to retain the lawsuit.
The drug's sales have been declining steadily since 1998, when it first became available and patent-protected, and by 2009 it was valued at over $2 billion. However, a new lawsuit was filed in December of this year by lawyers for the manufacturers of Viagra, saying that the company's sales were "increasing" by $1.2 billion. That is a huge price tag. As the case progresses, the number of Viagra cases will be rising and the number of plaintiffs will likely be reduced. The FDA is now investigating and determining whether Pfizer's patent for Viagra, which expires in 2014, has expired. The drug has been one of the most prescribed erectile dysfunction drugs in the United States for over two decades.
The lawsuit is one of the largest in the country and is being filed by the pharmaceutical industry. It includes an investigation into Pfizer's sales of Viagra and other drugs, the same class of drugs that have been studied in the clinical trials of the drug. Pfizer's patent for Viagra was valid in 2002, and Pfizer's patent for Prozac in 2007, which expired in 2013, has expired. The generic version of Viagra, called sildenafil, is also available for sale under the brand name Revatio. In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs claim that the generic version of Viagra can be substituted for the original drug, but it is not the same as the brand name Revatio.
The lawsuit is the result of a lawsuit filed by pharmaceutical lawyers in the U. and Europe, which allege that Pfizer's patent for Viagra and its generic version, sildenafil, expires in 2014. The case is being investigated by the FDA and a new lawsuit filed by lawyers for the manufacturers of the generic version of Viagra is being filed.

Men in the UK will be able to buy Viagra over the counter after consulting with a pharmacist and without a prescription for the first time today.
ViagraConnect manufacturer, Pfizer, estimates more than a fifth of men aged over 18 in Britain suffer from erectile dysfunction, but almost half of those over 40 have not sought medical help.
The erectile dysfunction drug will be available in 14,000 stores across Britain and via pharmacy websites.
The tablets will be available exclusively from Boots until 10 April.
Those aged 18 and over will be able to buy the tablets following a conversation with a pharmacist or after filling out an online form. Men can ask to speak to a pharmacist in a private consultation room if preferred.
The pharmacists will determine whether treatment is appropriate for the patient and give advice on erectile dysfunction, usage of the medicine and potential side effects. They will advise men to consult with their doctor no less than six months after buying Viagra so that any potential underlying conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease can be investigated.
A Boots spokesperson said that the man affected by erectile dysfunction should buy the drug themselves wherever practically possible.
Men with severe heart problems, those at high risk of heart problems, liver failure, kidney failure, strokes or those taking certain other medicines, will still need to be prescribed the drug under the supervision of a doctor.
A four-pack of the tablets will cost £19.99 and an eight-pack £34.99.
Men who buy it will be advised that they can take a 50 mg tablet an hour before having sex, but should not use more than one pill a day.
Viagra is is already available as an NHS prescription free of charge for those eligible not to pay for their prescriptions.
The pharmacist will decide how many packs will be supplied in a transaction.
